A Hooker's Guide to Getting a Job: Parables from the Real World of Career Counseling and Executive Recruiting
By Bruce A. Hurwitz, Ph.D.
Using parables based on interactions with career counseling clients and executive recruitment candidates, nationally recognized executive recruiter and career counselor Bruce Hurwitz explores the keys to conducting an effective job search. His non-traditional approach includes such advice as remembering that your job search is not about you but about the employer, focusing on differentiation, and that preparing for an interview is more important than worrying about the cover letter and resume. Hurwitz takes the reader through the job search process, from planning a course of action, through applying, to interviewing and, finally, negotiating an employment agreement.
